Oh no I'm addicted to Kelly Clarkson again, but what can you say, she's the original and best Idol. Only one who hasn't 'died' after their first album =)

I know i haven't blogged in awhile, so first things first. I'll blog about the party for the man my life would be so sucky without.

Well the performance of Mother Earth has been.. delayed till after the holidays. Talk about last minute Drama. All i can say is that i tried, and trying is what made it all the more worse.
To S.I.C.K i wish you all the best, you guys rock the house anyway =)

So stressed and excited! Saw 12 Angry Men and i'm going to see Government Inspector tomorrow night and in two weeks i'll be up on stage! Can't wait for the hours of rehearsal, the red bull, the good times, the drama...

Mother Earth still hasn't received a complete script, and I am freaking out as a director. But i'm taking it all in as practice for when i'm in Hollywood and trying to persuade RDJr to ignore his 'no nudity' clause in his contract.

Speaking of RDJr, he didn't win the Supporting Actor Oscar, again, but Ledger deserved the posthumous award, he died due to method and died for the art. The event itself was spectacular. I make it a thing to watch the Academy Awards every year, I guess it's the thrill of seeing the genius' of the art, the spectacular performances, the shiver I get down my spine the second Robert's on camera...

Slumdog won 8 oscars and deserved more, it's become one of my favorite movies that doesn't feature RDJr. Though for me the best part of it was the performance for the nominees for BEST SONG. An ingenius remix of Slumdog's 'O Saya' and 'Jai Ho,' and Peter Gabriel's 'Down to Earth,' for WALL-E.

To be honest Legend kind of ruined 'Down to Earth,' for me, especially compared to the vibrance and energy of the Bollywood awesomeness, it would have been fantastic if Peter Gabriel was there with his husky tones and his cute old-man-ness. However the arrival of the choir and then Jai Ho just amped it up. AR Rahman, you are a genius for mixing traditional Indian beats with the sounds of today. As a mixed CD-ist I kowtow.

...who else spotted RDJr in the front row during the acceptance speech? *shivers*

It's a saturday night, i've been alone for the entire day, i'm pissed, i'm severely depressed and the one person i want to talk about it to has been giving me the impression they don't give a shit for the whole day. I hate all the hypocrisy.

is it so much to ask, 'what's wrong?' is it so much to say, 'i'm busy' instead of leaving me hanging and confused, is it so much to get a bloody 'how are you feeling?'

i'm so sick and tired of being told to stop being pissy, or to stop being depressed, or to put on a brave face. I want to rant and scream to someone who won't judge me and can spare a few minutes to hear a girl out.

call me emo, call me whatever, i've gone way past the point of caring about anything anymore.

I no longer have a deviantart account, for some little prick reported me saying i stole his idea, when it just turns out to be a huge coincidence that i put up a sketch which looked similar to his, a sketch i have never seen before in my life. So frak you the guy who reported me and reset my account.

Anything creative i'm gonna put up here. My account is still on deviantart but there's nothing there. If i ever meet the person who reported me on false charges even though he had no proof, he's in for some major fucking up.

A movie review at 6am! I've been having trouble sleeping lately so i've taken to downloading movies during the day and having something to watch during the witching hour. I've finally found a way to catch up with my movies, unless i can get back to long restful nights. So for now i give you my first two reviews: Slumdog Millionaire and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

I know the poster may look kind of cheesy, but the movie is excellent. Basic plot, our hero the 'slumdog' who's uneducated and a chai whalla (tea maker) enters the show 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,' to reach out to his long lost love. Being a slumdog, nobody expects him to last long in this show, however he answers the questions correctly, and thus he gets arrested and interrogated, thinking he's suspect to cheating. And like our hero says, he just 'knew the answers,'

This definitely deserves every Golden Globe and Oscar it's been nominated for, the soundtrack is amazing (mixed disc 5 coming soon)and for those who think that it follows the stereotype of the Bollywood genre, you're wrong. The acting is brilliant, the plot amazing, and all in 2 hours, which for once, just isn't enough. Well there is some Bollywood elements, as seen in the end credits. In other words, GO BUY/DOWNLOAD this amazing movie immediately!

I love the poster for this, it's quite clever. And no I did not get this movie for Pitt, I only do that for movies like Iron Man and Tropic Thunder ;)
Anyway, this movie shows the full extent of just how advanced CGI has become, for in the early part of the movie you can't tell whether he's animated or just an old guy who just so happens to look like Brad Pitt when he's old. Personally, I adore this movie for the plot, which is simple, it is the story of the man who ages backwards, and his story of life and love. Although I felt that Pitt's acting was more... emotionless and cold compared to his animated other-me. Then again it's Pitt, he was most likely cast for this movie for other reasons. Cate Blanchett however I love, she and the other characters gave the emotion that the movie needed. Definitely one you watch with the girlfriend or the Pitt obsessed.

so much has happened this year, and its all gone by so fast... i feel old.
I've been out and back in love, passed and failed exams, had ups and downs, gained weight and lost weight and gained more and now lost some again (woopee) i've been addicted to four different drinks (Dr. Pepper, redbull, D&B and vodka cruisers) made friends and lost some and made more, never forgot the old ones and i've started, i've killed many many blogs, i've started making CD's, expanded my musical horizons, i've starred in my first play, made my first movie, explored creative inner me (hello) and it goes on..

looking forward to this year, and what Obama and i can do to CHANGE ;p

After a looong flight (two hours of having to bear with crying babies on a plane, which is like snakes on a plane; terrible) we landed :D
I love love love Singapore so much, all the time i kept thinking..

whyyyyyyyyyyy do i live in Brunei?

i mean, Singapore is heaven, it has everything! from three stories of HMV, philosophical taxi drivers who drive Chrysler 300's, ba kua, actual bookstores, BARS (i actually drank loads in sing because they never asked for ID, guess i look old... thanks?) and not to mention shoppingshoppingshoppinhshoppingshoppingshoppingshopping.

gotta love it.

but the Hallams have a sort of curse, that we either bring bad luck to a country we visit, or bad luck happens when we leave.
EXAMPLE.
1. When we arrived in Singapore, i saw the Megawheel and said i wanted to go on it, then around 4.30 the same day... IT MALFUNCTIONS AND STOPS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY TRAPPING PEOPLE INSIDE FOR 6 HOURS.

2. The next day, Christmas eve. An Australian man was caught trying to bring in a mummified CAT in his luggage through Changi.

3. same day, MAN FOUND DROWNED IN CLARKE QUAY, JUST A FEW HUNDRED METERS FROM OUR HOTEL.

4. Christmas day, VERY early in the morning. Threw up in the hotel sink due to too much fun and blocked it. Spent most of the early hours of Christmas cleaning it up.

get my drift? in the past when we left Bali for holiday, the next few days were the Bali bombings. When we recently went to Thailand this year, the riots started not long after we left.

But... anyhoo.
